Framework and plugins for examining memory structures. Available targets include Windows, Linux, and macOS, but target build, acquisition format, symbols, and plugin requirements determine applicability.
What was actually present in this acquisition, and what did the plugin infer from it?
A plugin result is a view derived from the captured pages and its method. A process name or address in an output is not, by itself, a complete history of execution or proof of an actor. Memory acquisition can span changing system state, so related structures may not represent one perfectly simultaneous instant.
Preserve a reproducible analysis
Preserve the original acquisition, acquisition-tool log, capture timing, target build, symbol provenance, plugin invocation/settings, and output. Record unavailable or unreadable pages rather than describing an apparently empty result as a complete search.
A useful validation question
Use a controlled image suited to the target build and plugin question. Check selected structures independently where possible. Two plugins may traverse different structures and legitimately produce different views; identify the reason for the difference before calling either result wrong.
